It is a good deck isn’t it? The great little gnome hero comes back alive with all it’s little friends.. well not so little, but you get the picture?? Mayhaps; but the biggest thing that has been upgraded is someone by the name of bert..

Black Ice Fizzle Freeze deck from EUCC

But the biggest reason for all the winning is the bert dude… BURLY BERTA

The stats on the card are pretty okay I mean 4 health and 0 attack on an opponents turn is pretty sad face, but 2/4 plus draw a card when you smash face to an opposing hero.. Pretty good; I mean when I row a resource I want to replace it with a draw all day, right? This is a major tempo card in the beginning, but as the recovery button you might want to look elsewhere. (Meaning great early game, Horrible in the end game). For the rest of the tournament, I can say that most of decks were control based with only one deck being rush based. But alliance players and playette’s do the right thing, get your berta’s now because.. well the card is an awesome card. Also it might help since you know the name.. Bert; But anyway just kidding about that last notion! Check out the rest of the results!

The Winners!
1st: Shuji – Black Ice Fizzle Freeze
2nd: Vichy – Black Ice Fizzle Freeze
3rd: Brandon – Mazar

Starting next week with all the moving being done I’ll make another incentive into playing in our tournaments *WORLD CUP STATUS WISE*! lol

Otherwise come out for big prizes as well this week!

What do you get when you go all fire and have an elusive hero…. I don’t know and I wouldn’t want to test it out during the hot times of this summer; but if you know your going against kuma/deathwish/warlock matchups. Well you might have a fun time with your opponents.

Note this deck is totally fun but also could be a call for you all.
Hero: Imp Lord Pinprick

Allies:
4	Broderick Langforth
3	Noxel Shroudhaggle
3	Waz’luk
3	Loraala
3	Brodien
3	Starli
3	Murphy Watson
3	Dread Infernal
2	Conqueror Yun’zon
4	Hoxie Mettlemelt
2	Flame Bender Ta’jin

Abilities:
3	Cremate
3	Smoldering Blast
2	Heartburn
3	Pyroclastic Consumption

Quest/Locations:
3	Auchindoun Spirit Towers
3	A Tale of Valor
3	Orders from Lady Vashj
2	The Ring of Blood: Brokentoe
2	On Ruby’s Wings
4	The Fall of the Betrayer

Overall 61 cards

What I would say about this deck is that plopping down dudes can really wreck other decks pretty soundly. The 3-4-5 turns can have some strong moves. The deck finally stabilizes on the 6-7 turn which is not to bad for a strong ally heavy plus card draw engine; but also spot removal really hurts this deck cryptozoicly; while also spot removal for your hero would hurt yourself as well. Otherwise you’ll auto win usually because their deck is really slow to answer your early little drops or it’s because they don’t answer your pinprick.

Sideboard wise i haven’t really talked about it, but please do enlighten yourselves back to the demonhood. Demon decks could be a surprise for the meta in worlds Or they could just auto lose all day.

Tell me what you think, also will be writing a new post after emailing you’ll about the june 26th tournament. Please Come out and as always Comment on the post!

Hey all!
A FRESH new post on an awesome site we are bringing back. Ωmg pro. So what better way to start off than to post some new trades on the site (B Have list updated), recap this year’s start, and to finish off thank yous for all those who helped at NACC.

SO to start off..

Wrathgate Release Celebrations (5/25-5/29)

Hopefully this will not effect anything at EUCC; but I wanted to post this after NACC at least so no competition would get the upper advantage on each other.

Our player group of Mike, Cheez, and l3 held a few events over the memorial week for Wrathgate/Cryptozoic’s first start off release! All events of OMG Project were held by l3.

5/25 Dice House Games – Wrathgate Sealed Release – 12 players (6 boosters of Wrathgate each)

Hero Distribution: 4 Alliance Priest, Alliance Death Knight, Alliance Mage, Horde Druid, 2 Horde Warrior, 2 Horde Paladin, and a Horde Shaman

I can say that the distribution in the packs at least early on always held onto Priest being the best in quantity for pickings in sealed, but the top 3 weren’t held up that way.

1st place tie: Rob – Horde Paladin – Charger/Silent Crusade ftw
1st place tie: Kyle – Alliance Death Knight – DK is still one of the best classes in Sealed
3rd place: Vichy – Horde Shaman – Never missing a beat with an assualt 3 power up

5/26 Frank and Sons – Wrathgate Sealed Release – 10 players (6 boosters of Wrathgate each)

Hero Distribution: Horde Rogue, 2 Horde Paladin, Alliance Shaman, 2 Alliance Warrior, Alliance Druid, Alliance Druid, Horde Priest, Horde Death Knight

No real priest mention here, but paladin again showing there grandeur by being picked altogether 4 times during the week, while warrior being picked three times altogether.

1st place – Kyle – Alliance Druid – Blow up 5 resources for 10 dudes..
2nd place – Brian – Horde Paladin – Strong strong quest, strong allies
3rd place – Craig – Horde Paladin – Rinse and repeat ally base
4th place – Vichy – Alliance Shaman – Really don’t have anything for that

Paladin is a must as well in wrathgate it seems with 22 player altogether playing in sealed your top 2 quantity picks are Paladin and priest; but the class quality picks would be for sealed are:

Paladin, Shaman, Druid/Death Knight

I’d say that this being my own opinion on the set is still only a small sample size; try it out for your player base, quantity should still check out/quality always depends on your picks and you as the player.

We also held a draft and I participated in one on the 29th got second with Horde Shaman, once I recollect more information though i’ll put it on here as well.

North American Continental Championships
I’m pretty sure you can read all the recaps at Cryptozic and also NACC Coverage site . Congrats for Corey top 8-ing again, Norvic for winning Gadgetzan and well Tim Rivera for being Tim Rivera.

I’d say this was one of the funnest weekends to be at though; with high level competition and high stakes on the line, I did my best to do one thing. Judge

I was one of the many floor judges for the day 2 competition of your drafting needs. I saw many DK’s, shaman picking after each shaman getting their pod broken with other classes, and most importantly I had to make callings on some huge decisions on conflicts.

I’d say my worst calling of the day was that striking with a weapon adds attack to your hero; totally forgot that since I was ruled on that before when I used Kel’thuzad and betrayer of humanity to hit me for 7 ranged damage. So much for conserving life lol.

My best call had to be when someone used the effect of Conqueror Vun’jin and trying to spell surpress the conqueror to try and take back his/her ally back.

What do you think would happen? (comment below)

Altogether the staff/judges/main leads and everyone were very helpful and also very serious about making NACC one of the best it could be. I’d say that the main event had some bumps but also was one of the best run events for WoW TCG since it began.

Judges and Staff – Everyone I met really helped me out as the newbie and thanks for that; everyone was great in each group you’ll had. I wanted to thank a few of those people (also since I had to also leave early from vegas) Tristan thanks for being an awesome roommate although I did not spend time with you, I hope you have great success with your company and your future endeavors. Both Rob’s and Brian for getting me through the day with all the help and advice they gave me, Tracy and Michele for being awesome as a pair of judges who love the game and really were valuable resources to look up to and lastly Jennifer, Edwin, and Simon for being always the outside judge leaders to look up to as this game grows. Lastly Javier, Mike, and Ry thanks for continuing the volunteer/hobby base of this game; hopefully you guys are making WoW TCG a game that will continue to succeed forever.

Summing it all up NACC-wise, thank your hobby league holder, thank your judges, but mostly thank yourselves that you’re continuing in a game that is and will always be awesome.

How do you feel about NACC or your/our release celebrations? Please comment below!

Well since the last post the newest set at the time of this post is Fields of Honor. I would believe this set came fairly quickly following the Blood of Gladiator’s set, but no complaints here. This has been a pretty game breaking set. The alliance faction is slowly coming back into the mainstream thanks to Weldon Barov and some of the newcomers such as Adam Eternum and Gromble the Apt. I noticed that the new alliance locations from Fields of Honor were pretty interesting and thought they needed a deck to work around them. After choosing Ironforge I knew that the best direction for this particular location was warrior.

Sideboard: Absolute Poise (3), Spell Ricochet (2), Puncture (2), Whirlwind (2), Pappy Ironbane (1)

The sideboard is something I just put together to deal with mass ally removal and control. Nothing spectacular here.

Quests and Locations: The quest lineup is your basic search what you need in the graveyard with some funny quest cards that will get some nice results with a combo I will mention later. Towers and Bunkers is a great card if your running 4 locations since it will net you 2 cards and all you needed was another quest and location in play. I guess if you can’t run counterattack, discard a card for Brokentoe, or give little 1/1 arena tokens with Blues Brothers, might as well play this baby. The Ironforge is quite simple, just exhaust it to get back any weapon or armor whose cost is less than the number of Dwarves in your party. So to clearify, you need 2 dwarves (your hero and an ally) to get back the 1 cost whispering blade.

Equipment: The equipment lineup for this particular deck has been centered around the lowest cost equipment I could find, aside from the game ending cards. With the large amount of equipment I added Onyxia’s Backpack to help get rid of the multiples that are not being used in play. With the use of Ironforge you can get back your cheap equipment then just drop them again to draw a card, rinse and repeat. The Wraith Scythe is my only response for healing. The Bulwark’s help keep the Dwarves in play since they have a really small chance to stay on the field without it. The Hope Ender and Bonecracker are great weapons that combo well with Mortal Strike. Just sit back and let those counters accumulate. One trick I found with the Bracers of the Green Fortress is the add Angelista ally into the mix. In a basic game you only use your quest once. In the case of Bracers your face down quest just became a 1 DEF armor. When Angelista is added you can return your used quest and place it down next turn. Keep playing Chasing A-Me 01 to get all your allies back. Play Legendary Heroes over and over to draw or have your opponent turn his resources down. Get back any card you had to put down as a resource.

Abilities: Not that many cards in this area seeing that its mostly equipment heavy which combos with the draw engine. There could probably be room for Bloody Ritual but I just don’t like putting damage on my hero. Mortal Strike speaks for itself if you look at the effects of Hope Ender and Bonecracker. The Gear Upgrade is backup for the Bracers of the Green Fortress, just in case you run into The Bringer of Death or Band of the Inevitable and you don’t want to lose your precious resources. The Anger Management help the Bonecracker and Felsteel Reaper. It can also help the whole Bracers/Angelista bit.

Allies: The Dwarves in this deck are all support. Chipper is quite versatile as an aggro and control character. The Brumdor makes use of those lonely Whispering Blades on the field or any other equipment just laying around. Mikael the Blunt is no suprise in this deck since he’s the only one that can take care of those ferocity runts and is a solid card for only 2 resources. Gromble the Apt helps the acceleration of deck and you might be able to play tricks with your opponent with your hero as a resource. Imagine your hero is ready with a Perdition’s Blade and you have Gromble. Your opponent attacks you with whoever, just exhaust your hero to strike with your weapon. Blam-O, practically free to swing on your opponents turn.

The deck is pretty tough to run since you need at least two Dwarves in play to get it going, but once you get the combo out it gets pretty funny. This deck runs both as an aggro if you pick up the daggers early game or as a stall if you are sitting back while you countdown your opponents life with Hope Ender/ Bonecracker and Mortal Strikes. Well I hope you enjoyed my little casual Dwarf deck. I will be posting the Gnomeregan attachment deck soon so stay tuned. (Don’t worry it won’t be months before my next post.)

Well its been about 4 months since our last real post, but we have been keeping up with the game and making a ton of decks. With the introduction of the newest set, The Blood of Gladiators, everyone is creating and testing new decks. The new alliance keyword is “Inspiring Presence”, If an ally or hero would deal non-combat damage it deals that much plus 1. Many of the new cards seem to support this particular keyword as they demonstrate weakness at first, but coupled with Inspiring Presence they prove to be powerful assets.

Sideboard: Metalmorph (2), Presence of Mind (1), Myriam Starcaller (4), Instructor Giralo (3)

The sideboard is a basic deck change from ability damage to Myriam damage.

Quests: Minions and Twin Spire will gain benefits from the new quest Blue Brothers. I probably could add another just to ensure my minions reach full counters. In Defense of Halaa can also add counters to Minions but it can also target my Gladiator’s Spellblade to make it more powerful. The Challenge is my new favorite quest. I believe the biggest deal with mage vs mage is based on whoever has the most resources and thus be able to play more counters if able. In respects to Illidan traitor decks, it boosts playing him and you still draw a card.

Abilities: So Slow is the premise of this deck. Using Presence of Mind on some of the cards will help the timing of placing Slow or even when you didn’t want to hard cast Gladiator’s Regalia or Spellblade on your turn. Arcane Power is an old-school card that was the original Inspiring Presence. You may have to pay an additional 1 but every extra damage counts. Taste of Arcana helps damage and counters your opponent, great 2 for 1. Touch of the Arcane is the only ability draw engine in this deck. If it’s paired with Spellblade, Arcane Power, or any Inspiring Presence ally the card puts arcane research and invocation to shame. Fire and Ice is great ally spot removal.

Equipment: Nothing too shabby here, just a few cards to help get the abilities going. Wand of the Forgotten Star is my own style to this deck. Sure it may not look like much but it makes spell caster a bit offensive, but this card truly shines when the Spellblade is out. The Spellblade’s text says that any damage is increased by the amount of counters. So when you strike with the wand its damage is increased and they mill more cards you don’t have to worry about. Your hero just went from spell caster to warrior.

Allies: Elder Achillia is the only reason I ran this deck. Great 2 cost ally so it can be brought back with twin spire and it holds the Inspiring Presence keyword. The health keeps it alive and the attack will at least take care of the pesky arena tokens. Sayge is a standard card just yet but it carries a nice effect if he survives. Edward the Odd helps Slow and keeps your turn free to do whatever you want.

The deck has its own balance of control and aggro. It may be a late-game type deck but it promises to keep the tempo if you controlled the opponent all early-game. Sure you can waste some the Taste of Arcanas or even damage the opponent for 1 with Touch of Arcane in the beginning, but the important key is the Slow on your opponent. Do whatever it takes to get that puppy on there.

This card is one of the most instresting mash melds of magic and WoW since they had the card called Counterspell. Spell Ricochet is pretty much a redirect for abilities, but the biggest thing about WoW (and consequently one of the worst things about WoW) is the way how chains work. Spell Ricochet is a heavenly gift and a hellish curse.

I’ve done research for this card on the World of Warcraft Forums and I was looking at all the different rulings about this card, but there are two things that I noticed from one of major contributors to the ruling of Spell Ricochet. I’ll show you the example of what caused this debate.

On my main phase

Salt the Wounds

then my opponent plays

Mystic Denial

I play

Absolute Poise

He plays

Mystic Denial

I play

Spell Ricochet

So now what I did that day:

I redirect the mystic denial to “itself” which causes the 2nd one to be fizzled out while the first one gets interrupted by absolute poise, and salt the wounds gets through. *btw: the redirect cannot target itself on a chain ruling on it from ShiningEntity

What I should of done is either one of 2 things..

1.) Change the target of 2nd mystic denial to the 1st mystic denial (but the 2nd mystic denial will stay on the field while the absolute poise fizzles out)
2.) Change the target of the 2nd mystic denial to spell ricochet, so that it won’t have the 2ndary effect, which causes the 2nd mystic denial to not have a valid target and the first mystic denial will be fizzled out.. (causes a really weird break of the chain though)

So finally the last few thoughts about it.
1.) It is the new.. counterspell in a way, just because it literally attaches itself to whatever ability you bring out to the field.
2.) There is a debate in the question of the validity of the question of the text “ability card”.. Say you have the card form of the serpent and you use the effect of damage to an ally, some people have said you can spell ricochet the effect… and some people say since it’s only a triggered ability that it won’t work. But technically, since form of the serpent is an ability card and spell ricochet targets ability card.. well then you could redirect.

Technically

Anyways as always please give us some of your thoughts!

With the Black Temple Raid dusted off I wanted to post the deck our team used. I played the part of healing. The priest was essential in keeping the health high and some mass removal. I added some twists with a bit of aggro just so I won’t be just focused on the healing perspective. The Black Temple raid is relatively impossible unless you have infinite combos, heavy hits, mass removal or the event cards you encountered are ineffective. Its like dodging bullets on those event cards. Having that said, here goes the deck….

This is pretty much how I sort out all my decks. There is even an extra column in my excel for sideboard, but since this is a raid deck my entire collection is the sideboard. Well it seems obvious that this deck is completely defensive and supportive. My job was to keep everyone’s health up while providing the occasional Holy Nova (more on that later).

Quests: The quests are pretty straight forward. I included any card that gave me a +1 or +2 card advantage. All other quests were situational. The Eastern Plaguelands was responsible for most of my offensive damage. With all the allies that you encounter in the raid Plaguelands alongside the Minions fill up their counters fast. The Plaguelands also instantly eliminates the boss Essence of Desire. The Retribution of Light is probably for stopping illidan from taking a card from his graveyard and putting it in play.

Abilities: Every card came out of any priest raid cookie cutter type deck. Circle of Healing is probably your best card since it heals heroes and allies. The next best card would be the Holy Nova. The kicker for this card is that its unpreventable mass removal. It may be one damage, but for most allies you encounter only need one hit.

Equipment: The Zhar’doom Greatstaff of the Devourer is my little twist to this deck. This card is great because it delivers a two for one, what we usually call “heal and deal”. After seeing the particular event that removes our graveyard, I wanted to make use of my 28 ability cards. You’ll probably get the effect in 2-3 times before it gets busted.

Allies: Bloodknight Kyria is probably one of the best cards for horde. All your cards get a two for one effect. Each of our decks ran 4 copies of Kyria. With her out you’ll forget who was the priest in the game. I included Shadowfiends for aggro and they could be pretty annoying to the raid boss, 3 damage for pretty much 1 resource. The Chen Stormstout was only included to stop massive attacks. The Akama was just added for kicks. Its funny how the traitor cards become useless. Great-Father Winter was a must due to his versatility. Pass him around to attack, pass around someone’s Felsteel Reaper (our win condition) or even get Invocation from the mage, he won’t be the only one drawing like crazy.

We spent weeks getting ready for this raid. We appreciate all our friends that helped us train and included their insight. We ended up retooling all our decks after each raid, even for the last one (which was probably our 5th or 6th attempt). Well thats it for this post. I hope this helps future raid players win their games and never forget to bring a priest into battle.

In case you wondering what our team consist: Horde – Priest, Paladin, Mage

So my friends and I, if you haven’t known, we’re the one and only people to win the raid against the Black Temple at the Anaheim Darkmoon Faire. There is a picture of us on First day DMF cover against the raid boss, but I know there wasn’t a picture shown of us winning on the photo coverage site because..

1) there isn’t any photo coverage up concurrently
2) We finished the raid 2 hours after the event was “Officially” finished.

So I thought it’d be a fun start to the site to see what I at least had to go through! I want to put you through the torment that was about 2-4 months of deck building… My first deck has to be one of my easiest ideas to base on, but one of the worst ideas to put on (before Drums of War). I’m thinking it could work, and I would love some insight from other people about this deck.

So here was the original idea for a hunter deck.. before one of the limited best bombs snipe came out.

Main Objective: Hunter Mass Damage

Hero:
Azarak Wolfsblood (TdP)

Abilities 23
Bloody Welcome (MoL) 4x
Feign Death (SoB) 4x
Thrill of the Hunt (MoL) 4x
Trophy Kill (TdP) 3x
Multi Shot (HoA) 2x
Snake Trap (SoB) 2x
Arcane Shot (HoA) 2x
Ice Trap (HfI) 2x

Allies: 16
Bloodclaw (HoA) 4x
Fury (HoA) 4x
Shadow (HfI) 4x
Watcher Mal'wi (HoA) 4x

Equipment: 8
Black Bow of the Betrayer (TbT) 4x
Wrathtide Longbow (SoB) 4x

Quests: 13
Minion's of the Shadow Council (SoB) 4x
Counterattack (HoA) 4x
Forces of Jaedenar (MoL) 3x
Orders of Lady Vashj (SoB) 2x

One of our biggest problems was the mass damage in the raid, so lets put the weapon that does one mass damage to everything into play. The only way the boss would take care of equipment was either through events, arcing smash, eye blast, and the interrupt card (not including the allies because the ideal mass damage coming into play would destroy them).

Although i listed alot of problems, techincally those things are only about 8 cards out of the raid boss’s deck and 2-3 events plus only one of them are instants.

So my main idea about this deck was:

To get these both out before The Illidari council was a must. 2 seperate instances of damage created so much possiblity when each ally came out; such an unstopable force. I can say that getting the 5/3 protector who prevents all but one damage is annoying, but getting him down to just one damage and getting the most of the Illidari council at near fatal was great!

But sadly hunters are still slow in this game.. and this was the biggest problem with the deck!

The bright spots of the deck and the almost great things about hunters for the raid are the support cards.

Bloody Welcome, Thrill of the Hunt, Trophy Kill, Ice Trap – are all cards that were essential to move on in the raid.

So here was the fail attempt number one.. I will post the 2nd raid deck idea within this week.

Please Discuss!
